Devastating: Newcastle star Anthony Gordon just had an accident

Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon was hurt after falling off a bike in Germany during a recuperation practice.

Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United has been photographed bleeding and bruised following an unfortunate mishap during a bike ride.

The winger suffered a cut chin and red marks after falling off his bike while leaving the England camp in Germany. However, Gordon trained today and remains in contention to start against Slovakia on Sunday night.

The event occurred on a recovery day following England’s dreary Group C draw with Slovenia. Gareth Southgate has been hesitant to use the former Everton star in the tournament thus far.

Speaking on his tournament bench duty thus far, Gordon stated, “I won’t lie to you, it’s difficult because I want to play, as I believe every player here wants. It’s challenging since we have a lot of talented players.”

“Watching a game from the sidelines at any level is difficult. You just want to come on the pitch because you believe you can make a difference; I felt that way when I came on. Training is excellent every day, but it just isn’t clicking. Hopefully in the following games, because we need to start attacking and dominating.”

Alan Shearer, the former Newcastle and England captain, has also endorsed Gordon to start against Slovakia. He told BBC Sport: “It is difficult to judge players properly when they come on late in a game, but Cole Palmer performed admirably against Slovenia, and we looked more dangerous.”

“It was the same with Gordon, who made a few of runs down the left, and with him on the field, we probably looked more dangerous down that flank in the final five minutes than we did in the previous three games combined.

“The move right at the end that started with Bellingham and Gordon on the left and ended with Palmer’s shot being saved was probably the best thing we did all night.”
