European club now set to make bid to sign Leeds player permanently

Real Betis are getting increasingly confident that they can complete a second raid on Leeds United this summer.

Betis are already close to finalizing a permanent deal to re-sign Marc Roca, but it does not appear that will be the last of it.

Roca spent last season on loan at Betis, and it appeared that he might return on a second temporary deal, but the two clubs have instead sought to find a permanent solution.

It appears that both teams are pleased with the agreement they have reached, with Betis paying much less than Leeds’ £10 million fee to sign him from Bayern in 2022.

Regardless, Leeds are claimed to be ‘happy’ with the sum they are due to get, and it appears that it will be confirmed this week or next.

Betis now growing in confidence for Diego Llorente deal

Based on the friendly agreement they reached with Roca, it is clear that the two clubs have established a good working relationship behind closed doors.

And that may give Betis a boost in their pursuit of another Leeds player, which appears to be intensifying.

News of the Spanish club’s interest in Diego Llorente broke this week, and according to journalist Samuel Silva, there has been another development.

Llorente has spent the last season and a half on loan in Italy with AS Roma, but they are only now asking another loan.

In contrast, Betis are ‘prepared’ to make a permanent offer to Leeds for the 30-year-old and are growing confident that they can persuade him to return to Spain.

Llorente’s contract does not include a loan provision this summer, so if a club is willing to try and sign him on a permanent basis, they will have the advantage.

What is Leeds’ asking price for Llorente this summer

Leeds paid a hefty £18 million to buy Llorente from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2020.

Unfortunately for Leeds, they will not be able to sell him for anywhere near that amount, and a significant loss is possible.

An asking price of £4 million was rumoured earlier this month, but sources in the last few days claim that has been reduced to £3 million.

Leeds must be doing everything they can to incite a bidding war between Roma and Betis so that they can receive the greatest possible price.
