Wolves move ahead of Aston Villa and West Ham as Fabrizio Romano confirms €40m offer to sign La Liga star

In an ongoing transfer saga, Wolves appear to have made a large bid for a player desired by two of their division rivals.
Wolves reportedly made an offer to Celta Vigo for forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

According to IL TEMPO, an Italian news outlet, Wolves has made an offer to the La Liga team worth roughly €40 million. Italian clubs are reportedly interested, but the youngster appears to be determined on a move to the Premier League.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has stated that the ‘Wolves are moving in talks to sign him’ and that ‘negotiations are progressing quickly’. Strand Larsen is ‘eager’ on a move, and personal arrangements are expected to be finalized.

Strand Larsen has sparked much curiosity in recent hours, and the story is far from over. Wolves and its West Midlands rivals were believed to have a ‘clear interest’ in signing him, and that the coming days would be’very significant’.

The news of a hefty bid comes as a surprise, given that Gary O’Neil intimated that Wolves would not spend significant money this summer. Wolves desire to stay within the Profit and Sustainability guidelines, and it was suggested that if any large-scale arrivals occurred, sales would be required.

Several Wolves players are of interest to their Premier League opponents. Newcastle United and West Ham have both been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign captain Max Kilman, while a few teams are interested in Pedro Neto.

Earlier this month, Rodrigo Gomes arrived for a reported £12 million from S.C Braga, while Wolves will complete the €7 million acquisition of Pedro Lima from Sport Recife next week.
