On Sunday, top-25 in-state player Michael Gibbs verbally committed to NC State, becoming the school’s first offensive line recruit for the 2025 cycle. Gibbs chose NC State over Duke and Virginia Tech, among many other options.
Listed at 6’4″ and 305 pounds by 247Sports, Gibbs is currently playing tackle in high school but is considered an interior offensive line prospect by 247. Despite not being the ideal height for a tackle, he seems capable of handling the position at the next level.
NC State’s early offer played a significant role in his recruitment—the Wolfpack was his first power-conference scholarship offer. This early interest, especially for in-state prospects, can be very impactful.
NC State now has 12 commitments for 2025, with two-thirds of those coming in the last month. June has been a busy and productive month for the Wolfpack.
