The Kentucky Wildcats had been on a roll, securing several top-250 commitments for their 2025 class. However, this momentum hit a snag on Friday when four-star defensive back Dawayne Galloway committed to Purdue. Galloway chose the Boilermakers over Kentucky, Penn State, West Virginia, and Syracuse.
Galloway, who also received offers from Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Michigan, Georgia, and Auburn, is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback from Columbus, Ohio. He possesses the frame and athletic traits reminiscent of successful cornerbacks developed under Coach Stoops at Kentucky.

Ranked 148th overall, 17th among cornerbacks, and seventh in Ohio by the 247Sports Composite rankings, Galloway is a significant pickup for Purdue. Despite his commitment, Kentucky is expected to continue pursuing Galloway until he signs his National Letter of Intent.
