North Oldham offensive lineman Gradey Anthony made his official visit to his future school on the weekend of June 7. Having frequently visited the University of Louisville (UofL) complex, Anthony, who committed to the Cardinals on January 26, took the opportunity to explore the program in greater detail and strengthen relationships with coaches and fellow recruits.
“The official visit went great. Being a lifelong Louisville native, I’ve definitely been around the city before, but spending time with the coaches and players was a highlight of my recruitment with UofL,” Anthony said. “The team’s incredible hospitality made it feel like home walking through the facilities. I’ve been there so many times over the past few months that my family was surprised as I pointed things out to them.”
The visit wasn’t just about business; it included some of the city’s highlights.
“From Churchill Downs to 8up, the entire experience was amazing and something both my family and I will remember,” Anthony said.
Overall, the visit reinforced his positive impressions of the program.
“Besides the staff, I really got to see how close the team is. As a fan, you see the players act as a team, but behind the scenes, they act as a family. This shows how tight these guys are, and as a recruit, it makes me excited to work with such a supportive group of coaches and players,” Anthony said. “I also enjoyed interacting with other commits like Mason Mims and former commit Jake Cook, and seeing their reactions to Louisville.”
Before starting his official visit at Louisville, the 6-foot-4.5, 275-pound lineman participated in one of the program’s prospect camps.
“It was nice to finally get some work in with Coach Owens and Coach Fisher,” Anthony told Cardinal Authority. “I’m beyond appreciative for the opportunity to finally get some cleats on at Louisville. Attending all those spring practices earlier this year made me eager to work with them. Finally being able to do so really proved to me that this is where I want to be.”
Louisville’s 2025 recruiting class currently includes 11 commitments.
