Breaking: Washington Breaks Another Record Of Signing Four-Star Receiver NCAA

There are currently 21 commits for Washington’s class of 2025. Slightly behind Wisconsin, it is ranked sixth in the Big Ten and 17th overall. Washington last fielded a top-20 class in the 2020 cycle, finishing 17th overall. Following the commitment of four-star Bay Area wide receiver Chris Lawson to the Huskies on Sunday night, the rankings saw a rise. Washington has added four player pledges in the past week, carrying over its momentum from the end of June.

Bay Area Washington Assures
Two Bay Area-wide receivers in the 2025 class committed to Washington this past week. Lawson is the latest addition to the class. The four-star is a top-20 talent in the state of California and the 25th-rated wide receiver in the class. Lawson has a 247Sports Composite rating of 0.9125, making him the third-highest-rated player in the 2025 Husky class. He is seated behind Vander Ploog and Zaydrius Rainey-Sale.

At Archbishop Riordan, Lawson recorded 969 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior last fall. He has played 33 varsity games in high school, including his time at Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California. Lawson has accumulated a total of 2,534 receiving yards and 32 touchdown receptions, averaging 76 receiving yards per game. A versatile athlete, Lawson also plays cornerback and has amassed over 100 career tackles through his junior season.

Another Bay Area commit, three-star Deji Ajose, announced his decision on social media at the end of June. Ajose, listed as an athlete, ranks in the top 40 nationally at his position. During his junior year, he caught 55 passes for 669 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Similar to Lawson, Ajose is a two-way player who also saw time at linebacker and safety in high school. Both Ajose and Lawson are ranked among the top 50 players in California.

Versatile Texas Native Commits to Washington

Last month, Ramonz Adams decommitted from Texas Tech, a program he had committed to in November 2023. Over three years at Smithville High School in Texas, Adams showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions. As a junior, he accumulated over 1,800 all-purpose yards, including more than 700 passing yards. Adams scored 14 touchdowns last year, with five each in passing, rushing, and receiving. Defensively, Adams played cornerback, recording eight interceptions as a junior, nearly averaging one per game. The three-star recruit will play his senior season at Bastrop High School. Standing at 6′-1″, he fits the modern profile of longer defensive backs and brings notable athleticism and versatility to the Washington defense.

Another Washington Native Stays Home

Securing local talent is always a priority in recruiting, and the Husky class currently boasts the top two players from the state, along with Washington’s sixth and 11th-ranked recruits. They now add the seventh-ranked player, Lowen Colman-Brusa, to their roster. Colman-Brusa, a three-star offensive tackle from Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, Washington, plays left tackle and is known for his dominant blocking. His physicality consistently overpowers defenders in the run game, often knocking defensive linemen to the ground. He also demonstrates strong footwork in pass protection. The newest Husky stands 6′-5″ and weighs 285 pounds, providing an ideal frame for a college-level tackle with room to further develop.
