Breaking: Miami football Land Blockbuster Commitment For Top Talented Star

On Saturday, the Miami football program secured a commitment from four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine, who shared with Chad Simmons of On3 that his decision was between LSU and the Hurricanes. According to the 247Sports composite, Antoine ranks as the 71st overall prospect, the eighth-best cornerback, and the second-best player in Louisiana for the 2025 class.

Antoine’s commitment to Miami was a surprise to many. While 247Sports’ crystal ball predicted he would choose LSU, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine had him leaning towards Miami. With Antoine’s commitment, Miami’s 2025 recruiting class moved up to eighth place, surpassing Clemson, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.

Miami had already received commitments from four-star prospect Chris Ewald and three-star Timothy Merritt at cornerback. Antoine is now the second-highest-ranked commit in Miami’s 2025 class, following safety Hylton Stubbs. The Hurricanes are assembling a formidable secondary for the 2025 class, with four-star safety Amari Wallace also committed.

Antoine told Josh Newburg of On3 that he informed Miami head coach Mario Cristobal of his decision on Friday. Miami’s ability to secure Antoine’s commitment from Louisiana is notable, given that Miami defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson played at LSU and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry is a Louisiana native.

Jaboree Antoine adds excellent length to the Miami secondary, standing at 6’1″ and weighing 175 pounds. With Antoine and Stubbs, Miami now has two top 100 players in the secondary according to the 247Sports composite rankings. This strengthens Miami’s position to sign the top class in the ACC and maintain a top 10 national ranking for the third consecutive year.

Defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson has been the primary recruiter for Antoine, Chris Ewald, and Timothy Merritt. Antoine’s commitment is especially gratifying for Jackson, an LSU alum. Jackson played a crucial role in recruiting Antoine, Ewald, and Merritt, showcasing his effectiveness in building an elite secondary for Miami’s 2025 class.

Jaboree Antoine is the fifth commit for Miami in July, joining center Seuseu Alofaituli, linebacker Gavin Nix, safety Hylton Stubbs, and wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw. Alofaituli, Nix, Stubbs, and Antoine are the top four ranked players in Miami’s 2025 class according to the 247Sports rankings. These additions bolster Miami’s already strong recruiting class, enhancing their prospects for a top ACC class and a top 10 national ranking for the third consecutive year.
