Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed the passing of former walk-on defensive back Terrance Howard.
“Before I comment on the team, I want to extend our thoughts and prayers to Terrance Howard, who was with us before transferring to North Carolina Central,” DeBoer stated at the start of his press conference following Alabama’s Sunday practice. “He passed away, and he has some close friends on this team who are also thinking about him. We send our prayers and thoughts to his family.”
Howard, who did not play as a freshman at Alabama in 2023, transferred to North Carolina Central on a scholarship in May after spending the spring with the Crimson Tide. He was struck by a vehicle in North Carolina in late July and passed away on Thursday, according to a report by KHOU.
Howard joined Alabama from Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas.
