Jazz Chisholm Jr., the team’s new infielder, is adjusting well to third base, according to manager Aaron Boone, as the New York Yankees continue their pursuit of postseason baseball. In an MLB Network Radio interview, the veteran Yankees manager talked about Chisholm’s move to the hot corner.
Boone said on the station, “He came up to me two days ago and he goes, ‘Man, I think I was born to play third base.'”
The Bronx will be heavily dependent on Chisholm’s ongoing development as the Yankees schedule develops. Based on first-half performance, the Cubs most needed help at third base, and the former All-Star has so far provided it, and then some. In addition, it appears like Chisholm has adapted to Yankee Stadium and has grown to be a fan favorite as well as a favorite among his teammates. The recently acquired third baseman will try to build on his great debut with the pinstripes.

Yankees superstars Aaron Judge and Juan Soto have essentially carried the offense this season, as much of the team has struggled at the plate. However, Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been a notable exception, making a significant impact on the Bronx Bombers’ lineup. In his time with New York, Chisholm Jr., playing third base, has posted a .300 batting average over 30 at-bats, hitting four home runs, driving in eight runs, and stealing two bases.
Manager Aaron Boone praised his new third baseman’s defense during an interview with MLB Network Radio. As a former Gold Glove third baseman, Boone understands the position’s demands well.
“If you didn’t know any better, you’d say Jazz Chisholm is one of the best defenders in the league,” Boone remarked.
Chisholm Jr. was recognized as a plus defender at second base with the Miami Marlins and was starting to excel in center field before the trade. His elite athleticism and high baseball IQ have made the transition to one of baseball’s toughest defensive positions seem effortless.
