Breaking: LSU Tigers Confirm The Exit Of Emerging Playmaker Due To Devastating Injury

LSU wide receiver Chris Hilton’s availability for Sunday’s game against USC Football is in question due to an ankle injury. Hilton has been sidelined from practice for the past week after injuring his ankle during training camp.

Tigers head coach Brian Kelly provided an update on Hilton’s condition during his weekly SEC Teleconference appearance on Wednesday.

“We had about an hour of practice on Monday where he was working on route precision,” Kelly said. “We’ll move to the next phase and assess his progress. I know he’s eager to play and is working hard to be ready for Sunday, but we’ll see how the week unfolds.”

With Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. departing for the NFL Draft in 2024, LSU is tasked with replacing over 2,700 yards and 31 touchdowns of production.

Hilton, a redshirt junior standing 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, played just over 200 offensive snaps last season, catching 13 passes on 23 targets for 225 yards.

LSU has also brought in graduate transfer CJ Daniels from Liberty, who caught 55 passes for 1,067 yards and touchdowns last season.

If Hilton is unable to play, redshirt freshman Kyle Parker is expected to step up as the starting wide receiver. Parker has shown notable progress in his catching, blocking, and route running, earning the confidence of the coaching staff.

As of Thursday, Hilton’s status remains uncertain, and LSU will have to wait to determine if they can count on their top receiver for Sunday’s game.
