Injury Updates: Vikings’ Confirm Team Key Players Out Due To Terrible Injuries

The Minnesota Vikings received mixed injury updates on Thursday concerning wide receiver Justin Jefferson and edge rusher Dallas Turner. Jefferson sustained a quad injury during the Vikings’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers last weekend, specifically in the fourth quarter.

Before the injury, he had an impressive performance with four catches for 133 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Darnold.

Turner exited the same game with a knee injury and has not practiced all week. Prior to his exit, the rookie had recorded one assisted tackle.

Jefferson provided a positive update to reporters, stating that his quad feels “great” and that he is “for sure” planning to play against Houston on Sunday.

He practiced on Wednesday and Thursday, albeit with some limitations. In contrast, Turner informed KARE 11 reporter Julia Daniels that he will not be playing against the undefeated Texans but hopes to return for Week 4 when the Vikings face the Green Bay Packers.

Additionally, wide receiver Jordan Addison is not expected to play due to an ankle injury he re-aggravated in Week 1 against the New York Giants.

However, right tackle Brian O’Neill (elbow), linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (foot), center Garrett Bradbury (knee), running back Aaron Jones (hip), guard Ed Engram (triceps), and wide receiver Jalen Nailor (ankle) all participated fully in practice.

Linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. (quad) was limited in practice, just as he had been on Wednesday. The Vikings and Texans are set to kick off at noon at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, both aiming to maintain their undefeated records.
