MAJOR BREAKING: The Yankees Lands Another Addition To Boost Season

A new report indicates that Juan Soto met with New York Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner over the summer. According to Brendan Kuty of The Athletic, this previously unreported meeting took place in July at Yankee Stadium. Sources revealed that their conversation focused on Soto’s experiences with the team thus far.

They discussed how he has enjoyed his time and what the Yankees could do to improve the experience for a newcomer. The Yankees acquired Soto, along with outfielder Trent Grisham, by trading pitchers Michael King, Jhony Brito, Drew Thorpe, Randy Vasquez, and catcher Kyle Higashioka before the 2024 season.

Soto is having an impressive season in his walk year. As of Friday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he boasts a .288 batting average, a .990 OPS, 41 home runs, 108 RBIs, and 128 runs scored, contributing to a 7.9 WAR (wins above replacement).

Soto expressed his ambition to be part of Yankees history, stating, “I’ve been trying all year to be part of it — at least even if it’s for one year. I’m trying my best to be around those books with the World Series champions. But we’ll see how it’s going to be. At the end of the day, you never know if you’re going to be there.”
