The Baltimore Ravens are heading into Week 5 with the highest rushing yard total in the NFL, boasting 881 yards. They average an impressive 220.3 rushing yards per game, well ahead of the Green Bay Packers, who are in second place with 174.5 yards.
Derrick Henry leads the charge with 480 yards on 80 carries, while quarterback Lamar Jackson has contributed 308 rushing yards.
In an exciting development announced Thursday, the Ravens are set to enhance their backfield as they’ve designated rookie running back Rasheen Ali to return to practice from injured reserve. The statement revealed, “The Ravens opened the 21-day practice window for rookie running back Rasheen Ali on Thursday.”
A fifth-round pick from Marshall, Ali made the 53-man roster out of training camp but was placed on injured reserve due to a neck injury before Week 1. Alongside Ali, Keaton Mitchell also started the season on injured reserve, currently recovering from an ACL injury.
With Ali back in practice, the Ravens have released John Kelly. Notably, the team hasn’t had a No. 3 running back carry the ball this season; only Henry, Jackson, Justice Hill, and Zay Flowers have registered rushing stats through the first four games. Will Ali be the first No. 3 running back to make an impact?
