TEAM NEWS: Ravens Face Challenge as Talented Player Injury Update Raises Concerns

The Baltimore Ravens have had a strong start to the 2024 NFL season, currently holding a 3-2 record as they enter Week 6.

After dropping their first two games, they have gained momentum. However, there’s a concerning injury update regarding one of their key defensive players.

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey did not practice on Wednesday, according to Bo Smolka from PressBox. He sustained an injury during the Week 5 game against the Bengals and was seen wearing a walking boot afterward. His availability for Week 6 is now uncertain.

Humphrey has been a crucial defensive asset, recording two interceptions in five games and making significant stops on third downs. If he is unable to play, the Ravens will need to rely on Brandon Stephens and rookie Nate Wiggins to step up, with T.J. Tampa possibly getting more playing time as well.

Ravens fans should watch for further practice updates throughout the week to assess the severity of Humphrey’s injury.

On the other side, the Washington Commanders, led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, are setting records in his first season. They boast a potent offense that excels both in the air and on the ground, while their defense, though not elite, has kept them competitive in games.

This matchup against the Ravens will be a significant test for the Commanders. While their record may not reflect it, Baltimore has delivered strong performances each week. The Ravens feature talent on both sides of the ball, complemented by a dynamic running quarterback.

Playing at home gives Baltimore an advantage, along with the experienced coaching of John Harbaugh, who is among the most consistent coaches in the NFL today—though Dan Quinn is also a competent coach in his own right.

The Ravens and Commanders will face off on Sunday at 1 PM ET.
