BREAKING NEWS: Falcons Part Ways With Another Talented Player

Ahead of their Sunday game against the Carolina Panthers, the Falcons have announced the release of cornerback Kevin King. A second-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2017, King has faced a challenging career marred by injuries and inconsistencies.

After being signed by the Falcons this offseason, he hadn’t played in an NFL game since 2021 but managed to perform well enough during practice to earn a spot on the practice squad.

This season, King participated in five games for the Falcons, primarily contributing on special teams. Out of his 46 total snaps, only five were spent on defense.

With the Falcons’ secondary exceeding expectations this season, the team likely decided it would be more beneficial to utilize King’s roster spot for a different player.

Despite his release, King should have no trouble finding another opportunity in the NFL. His experience and past performance make him a viable candidate for practice squads across the league. Teams in need of depth or looking to develop players may consider bringing him in.

Overall, while King’s time with the Falcons has come to an end, his NFL career is far from over. With the right opportunity, he can continue to make an impact, whether on a practice squad or as a backup on another roster.
