MAJOR BREAKING: Gamecocks Sign Promising Deal For Another Elite Player

Talented Player, a 6-foot-7 outside shooter from Washington, D.C., has committed to South Carolina, adding a valuable asset to coach Lamont Paris’s future offensive plans.

Polk made his official visit to USC during the Ole Miss football game weekend and also checked out Florida Gulf Coast. He received offers from several other schools, including Fairfield, Iona, Canisius, Youngstown State, Morehead State, George Washington, and New Jersey Tech.

Playing for St. Albans in D.C., Polk had an impressive season last year, averaging 19 points and 6 rebounds per game. His shooting prowess was highlighted by an impressive 87 three-pointers made during the season.

“Not to be cocky, but I think I’m one of the best shooters in the country,” Polk remarked last month. “I’m really efficient at knocking down shots, and being 6-7 definitely gives me an advantage.” His commitment is expected to significantly enhance South Carolina’s shooting capabilities in the coming years.

Grant Polk is excited about his future with the South Carolina Gamecocks, particularly because of coach Lamont Paris’s coaching style. Polk appreciates that Paris allows his players to showcase their skills without imposing a rigid system.

“I like how he lets his players play the game,” Polk explained. “He encourages them to do what they’re good at and doesn’t disrupt that.

They focus on playing good basketball rather than sticking to a set offense. Coach Paris has emphasized that he prefers an offense that prioritizes passing over dribbling and creates ample spacing.”

With Polk’s commitment, South Carolina now has four recruits for their 2025 class, further strengthening their roster for the future.
