Rookie tight end Qadir Ismail, who joined the Ravens’ practice squad in August, has been placed on injured reserve.
The son of former Ravens wide receiver Qadry Ismail, he had a standout summer as an undrafted rookie from Samford. After impressing during a minicamp tryout, he earned a spot on the 90-man roster at the start of Organized Team Activities.

In late July, the 6-foot-6 Ismail transitioned from wide receiver to tight end and continued to make plays, securing a position on the team.
Ismail’s versatility is one of his key assets; he began his college career as a quarterback at Villanova before switching to wide receiver at Samford.
In a related move, tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden has been re-signed to the practice squad after being waived on Wednesday.
