Head coach Matt LaFleur has announced that tight end Luke Musgrave will be placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.
Musgrave’s condition has worsened, as he was limited in practice on Wednesday but did not participate at all on Thursday.
This injury has been a persistent issue for Musgrave, who didn’t practice at all last week before being listed as active in Week 5, though he did not see any playing time. The 24-year-old was expected to make significant progress this season, but it has been Tucker Kraft who has risen to the occasion in his absence.
In the 2024 season, Musgrave has managed just five receptions for 22 yards on seven targets. He will now shift his focus toward recovery, although there is currently no timeline for his return.
LaFleur mentioned that the team is still evaluating the severity of Musgrave’s injury, which means they’ll need to be patient for now.
While this situation is unfortunate for Musgrave, the Green Bay Packers have taken steps to address the gap in their roster by adding another pass-catcher to support the team during his absence.
