The 5-2 Minnesota Vikings have taken a significant step in addressing one of their critical weaknesses by trading for veteran left tackle Cam Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Vikings are sending a conditional fifth-round pick in 2026 to Jacksonville, which can escalate to a fourth-round pick depending on Robinson’s playing time.
In return, they will receive Robinson along with a conditional seventh-round pick that may also be voided based on his usage.
Robinson, now 29 years old, brings eight years of NFL experience, having spent his entire career with the Jaguars. Selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft as the 34th overall pick, he rebounded impressively from an ACL tear in 2018 to establish himself as one of Jacksonville’s most reliable offensive linemen.
At 6-foot-6, Robinson has made a total of 91 starts and has been franchise-tagged twice, culminating in a substantial three-year, $54 million contract extension prior to the 2022 season.
Currently in the final year of his contract, Robinson represents a valuable acquisition for the Vikings, particularly following a significant injury within their offensive line.
In a highly competitive NFC North division this season, Robinson’s experience and skill set are expected to provide immediate impact.
His reputation for effective blocking, which dates back to his collegiate career at Alabama, should help stabilize the Vikings’ offensive front.
