BREAKING: Projected $20 Million Star Player Ditch Yankees For NL West Contender Due To…..

The New York Yankees are currently focused on acquiring Juan Soto, so much so that other free agents, including their own second baseman Gleyber Torres, are receiving little attention. Spotrac estimates Torres could sign a three-year, $20 million deal this offseason.

The Yankees have been linked to various potential replacements for Torres, including the idea of adding a third baseman and shifting Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second base. However, if the Yankees decide not to re-sign Torres, where might he go? Nick Villano of FanSided recently predicted Torres would leave New York and join the San Francisco Giants.

Villano suggests Torres could be part of the Giants’ strategy to challenge the Los Angeles Dodgers for supremacy in the National League West. According to Villano, the Giants have a need at second base and could use additional offensive support in their division.

While Torres may not be their biggest offseason move, it would still bring them closer to contention, even with tough competition from the Dodgers and Padres.

A move to the Giants makes sense, but it’s unlikely the Yankees would let him go for less than $10 million a year. Torres is likely to command a deal closer to $15 million annually. If the Giants are willing to outbid the Yankees, Torres could end up in the Bay Area.
