BREAKING: Kansas State Football Lands Two Key Transfers to Strengthen Roster for 2025 Season

Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman has bolstered the Wildcats’ roster with two key additions from the transfer portal, strengthening the team as they prepare for the upcoming season. This past weekend, the Wildcats secured commitments from players at crucial positions, including running back Gabe Ervin from Nebraska and defensive back Jacob Brown from South Alabama. With these new additions, Kansas State aims to further enhance its offensive and defensive depth, setting the stage for an exciting 2025 football campaign.

Gabe Ervin, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound running back, was the first of the two transfers to commit to K-State. A former standout at Nebraska, Ervin brings valuable experience to Manhattan after entering the transfer portal as a graduate. Known for his powerful running style, he is expected to make an immediate impact in the Wildcats’ backfield. Kansas State plans to utilize Ervin’s size and strength as a power runner, capable of breaking tackles and picking up valuable yardage on key downs.

Ervin’s addition to the roster comes at a crucial time for Kansas State, who is looking to replace some key contributors in their running game. His experience in the Big Ten, coupled with his physicality, provides the Wildcats with a proven option to complement their existing offensive talent. Ervin’s ability to grind out tough yards will be particularly valuable as Klieman continues to build a competitive and balanced squad.

In addition to Ervin, the Wildcats also landed defensive back Jacob Brown from South Alabama. Brown, known for his coverage skills and playmaking ability, will add depth to Kansas State’s secondary. With his previous experience in the Sun Belt Conference, Brown is expected to help solidify the Wildcats’ defense, which has been a focus for Klieman during the offseason. His versatility and skill set make him a promising addition to the team as they look to improve defensively in 2025.

These recent transfers are part of Klieman’s ongoing efforts to enhance the Kansas State football program through strategic additions via the transfer portal. With Ervin and Brown now on board, the Wildcats are poised to compete at a high level in the Big 12 and beyond, with both players expected to make significant contributions to the team’s success. As Klieman continues to shape his roster, these key transfers will play a pivotal role in the Wildcats’ pursuit of greatness.
