BREAKING-NEWS: South Carolina Football Confirms Return Of Another Top Prospect This Season

Brady Hunt, a 6-foot-5, 253-pound tight end who transferred to the University of South Carolina from Ball State last offseason, has signed a new NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) contract with the Gamecocks’ official collective, Garnet Trust. This agreement guarantees his return to the team for the upcoming season.

During the 2024 season, Hunt was part of South Carolina’s three-man tight end rotation with Joshua Simon and Michael Smith. He recorded two receptions for 22 yards, including a key first-down catch in the win over Missouri.

Hunt showcased his versatility as both a blocker and a receiver, and he is expected to take on a more significant role next season, particularly with Simon finishing his eligibility.

Before joining South Carolina, Hunt had a standout 2022 season at Ball State, where he posted 46 receptions for 498 yards and five touchdowns. His strong performance at Ball State and subsequent transfer to South Carolina highlight his potential to be a key contributor to the Gamecocks’ offense moving forward.

The signing of this NIL deal underscores the importance of player retention for South Carolina’s football program. Garnet Trust has played a crucial role in securing such agreements, ensuring that vital players like Hunt stay with the team.

Head coach Shane Beamer has stressed the importance of building strong relationships with players and maintaining open communication to create a positive team atmosphere.
