The Missouri football team strengthened its offense by adding Vince Brown II, a former tight end from Colorado State, on Saturday. Brown, who played two seasons with the Rams, started 12 of the 13 games he appeared in this past season. He recorded 24 catches for 256 yards and three touchdowns.
A native of Matteson, Illinois, Brown had three receptions for 41 yards in Colorado State’s Arizona Bowl appearance. Before transferring to Colorado State, he began his collegiate career at the College of DuPage, a JUCO program, where he helped lead the team to two NJCAA championships in 2021 and 2022.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 230 pounds, Brown has one year of eligibility left, thanks to the NCAA’s decision to grant an additional year to former JUCO players.
Brown will join a tight end room at Missouri that includes returning talent like sophomore starter Brett Norfleet, sophomore Jordon Harris, freshman Jude James, junior Tucker Miller, and freshman Whit Hafer. The Tigers will also add three-star Class of 2025 recruit Dakotah Terrell.
With Tyler Stephens out of eligibility, Brown becomes the Tigers’ first tight end transfer portal acquisition. He is the seventh offensive transfer and the 16th overall addition from the portal for Missouri.
The Tigers’ transfer portal class is currently ranked No. 2 in the country, just behind Texas Tech, according to On3.
Additionally, punter Luke Bauer has entered the transfer portal after completing his career at Missouri. As the team’s sole punter, Bauer averaged 41.8 yards per punt over 49 attempts this season, finishing with a long of 62 yards in the Music City Bowl. Originally expected to conclude his career after the 2023 season, Bauer now plans to use his final year of eligibility elsewhere.
