BREAKIG: Malik Nabers delivers a strong message to the Giants’ future quarterback

The New York Giants’ 2024 season was a complete disaster, but even amidst the quarterback turmoil and a 3-14 finish, rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers stood out.

Nabers wasn’t just a bright spot—he became a symbol of hope for a franchise struggling to find its way. With record-breaking performances, he cemented his status as the team’s main offensive force going forward. However, in a recent interview, he shifted the attention to his teammate, Wan’Dale Robinson, offering high praise that should catch the interest of any quarterback potentially joining the Giants in 2025.

Reflecting on the season, Nabers highlighted Robinson’s toughness and determination, saying:

“Wan’Dale gets hit a lot, and he’s a small guy, so every time he gets hit, he still keeps pushing for extra yards, with three people on his back. There were moments in the game when I was just like, yeah, he’s different. That’s someone I want to keep playing with in my locker room. He shows a lot of grit and tenacity when he plays.”

Despite a tough season, having players like Robinson, who never backs down, was invaluable to the Giants. And with Nabers emerging as a star, he’s making it clear that any future quarterback will have something special in the receiver room.

While the offseason will likely focus on resolving the quarterback situation, it’s important to recognize that the pieces around that position are starting to come together. With Nabers’ stellar rookie year and Robinson’s reliability, the Giants now have two key weapons any quarterback would want. The question is, who will the Giants bring in to help unlock their young stars’ full potential?

Options include quarterbacks like Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward, Jalen Milroe, and Jaxson Dart in the draft, or free agents such as Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, and Russell Wilson. A trade for a veteran like Kirk Cousins or Derek Carr could also be on the table.

If there’s a silver lining to the Giants’ dismal season, it’s that whoever steps in at quarterback next year will be joining an offense with solid building blocks. Nabers is already proving he can lead on and off the field, and his endorsement of Robinson highlights the chemistry developing between the team’s key playmakers.

While Nabers likely didn’t mean to send a sales pitch, it’s hard to ignore the message. The Giants may be forming a dynamic duo in their receiving corps, laying the foundation for a brighter future. With breakout performances from these two young stars, the starting quarterback job in New York is suddenly more appealing than it was just a year ago.

Nabers’ subtle message is clear: the next Giants quarterback is in good hands.

For general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll, choosing the right quarterback to pair with these two is a critical decision for 2025—and one they can’t afford to get wrong.
