BOOST: Giants Make Game-Changing Move, Signing Miami’s Top QB for 2025 Draft

The New York Giants are once again searching for their franchise quarterback. After briefly exploring the possibility last year, they ultimately chose to give Daniel Jones another chance to secure the position. However, following Jones’ release in late November, the team is now fully focused on the quarterback market, with the 2025 NFL Draft likely being the key to finding their next leader.

Currently holding the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, the Giants could target Miami quarterback Cam Ward, according to sophomore running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. Tracy was quick to express his admiration for Ward’s dual-threat capabilities when asked who the Giants should select at quarterback.

“I’m a big fan of Cam Ward,” Tracy told the New York Post. “The passing and running game is where the league is heading, and with [head coach Brian Daboll] and his offense, we have a lot of quarterback runs and situations where the QB needs to run. Cam is the best at that, based on what I’ve seen on film.”

Tracy clarified that while his opinion is his own, it holds no influence over the team’s decision. “Of course, my opinion doesn’t carry any weight,” he added, acknowledging the team’s ultimate choice in the matter.

However, even if the Giants are aligned with Tracy’s preference, their pursuit of Ward could be complicated. The Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, who hold the first and second overall picks, are also likely in the market for a quarterback, potentially taking Ward off the board before New York has the chance to select him.

In his most recent mock draft, CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson has Ward being selected first overall by the Titans. Ward had an impressive 2024 season with Miami, completing 67.2% of his passes for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. He also rushed for 204 yards and four additional touchdowns.
