BOOST: Kansas State Makes Game-Changing Signing with New Wide Receiver: What Does This Mean for Their Offense?

Despite already securing two wide receivers through the transfer portal, Kansas State isn’t finished bolstering the position.

On Thursday, Caleb Medford, a transfer from New Mexico, committed to the Wildcats, according to his agency, A&P Sports Agency. Medford spent the past two seasons with New Mexico, totaling 48 receptions for 887 yards and five touchdowns.

This past season, Medford caught 18 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns over ten games. He also scored a four-yard touchdown in the first quarter of a blowout loss to Auburn. In 2023, Medford was a key player for the Lobos, registering 551 yards and two touchdowns on 30 receptions. His standout performance came in a late-season win against Fresno State, where he recorded six catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Medford, a three-star recruit in the 2020 class, originally signed with TCU, turning down offers from schools like Arkansas and Texas Tech.

He was ranked as the No. 121 player in Texas. After two seasons with TCU, during which he played in five games but didn’t record any catches, he transferred to New Mexico in 2022.

With the departures of Dante Cephas, Jadon Jackson, and Keagan Johnson this offseason, the Wildcats have made wide receiver additions a top priority. In December, Kansas State added Jerand Bradley from Boston College and Jaron Tibbs from Purdue through the transfer portal. Additionally, the Wildcats signed JUCO wide receiver Jemyri Davis and high school recruits Nunu Concepcion, Larry Porter IV, and Adonis Moise.
