The 2025 NFL Draft is set to be a pivotal one for the New York Giants, who hold a top-three pick and are eyeing a franchise quarterback. However, if the top two quarterbacks are selected early, the Giants may have to pivot and instead choose the best available prospect, focusing on strengthening the rest of their roster.
In this three-round mock draft, the Giants miss out on a quarterback in the first round but still land an exciting combination of players, with an emphasis on fortifying the trenches.
Giants Secure Elite Pass-Rusher with No. 3 Pick
With quarterbacks Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders going off the board at the top of the draft, the Giants opt to take the best player available—Penn State EDGE rusher Abdul Carter.
Carter, considered one of the top prospects in the draft alongside Travis Hunter, is an elite pass-rusher with enormous potential. In 2024, Carter led the nation with 24 tackles for loss and recorded 12 sacks, earning recognition as a rare, all-pro caliber player. Despite edge rusher not being their most pressing need, the Giants take the opportunity to add a game-changing defender to their roster.
Giants Add Dual-Threat Quarterback in Round 2
The Giants circle back to the quarterback position in the second round, selecting Alabama’s Jalen Milroe with the 34th overall pick.
Known for his rare athleticism, Milroe’s rushing ability—726 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2024—makes him an intriguing prospect with high upside. While his passing game needs work, some analysts have compared him to early-career Josh Allen, suggesting Milroe could develop into a playmaker. The Giants could use him as a developmental project behind a veteran bridge quarterback in free agency.
Offensive Line Help in Round 3
To help any future quarterback succeed, the Giants must continue to address their offensive line, which has been a weakness in recent years.
In the third round, they select Purdue OT Marcus Mbow with the 65th overall pick. At 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Mbow could provide a major upgrade to the Giants’ right tackle position. After starting 12 games for Purdue, Mbow allowed just four sacks and 22 pressures, earning a solid PFF grade. With Mbow on board, the Giants can move veteran Jermaine Eluemunor to right guard and work to develop 2022 first-round pick Evan Neal.
This mock draft shows the Giants prioritizing the trenches, bringing in a dynamic pass rusher, a high-upside quarterback, and an offensive tackle to strengthen the core of their team.
