Giants Legend Eli Manning Has QB Prospect ‘Under (His) Wing’ — and He Loves New York

The New York Giants are eyeing a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, with the leading candidate being Shedeur Sanders from Colorado — if he’s available at No. 3. But if Sanders isn’t on the board, another intriguing option could be Jaxson Dart, the Mississippi quarterback who is expected to be available in the second round.

Eli Manning, Giants legend and two-time Super Bowl MVP, has already spoken highly of Dart. Manning, a fellow Ole Miss alum, recently told The New York Post that he likes Dart’s potential. “I’ve been around him, and he’s been a great kid, been in the same offense for three years and been successful,” Manning said. “He seems to be able to make all the throws.”

However, Manning’s connection with Dart goes beyond their shared university ties. Dart has developed a close relationship with the Manning family, particularly Archie Manning, and has even formed a bond with Eli Manning. In a feature by Paul Schwartz of The Post, Dart shared how the Manning family has consistently reached out to him throughout the season, offering guidance and wisdom. “Eli has been great with me as well. They reach out to me consistently, really every week. They just know so much. They have so much experience. I’ve been blessed to kind of be under their wing,” Dart said.

Dart, currently the No. 6-ranked quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class, has had an impressive season, throwing for 4,279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, with a passer rating of 180.7 — the best in college football. As he continues to grow and develop under the mentorship of Eli Manning, Dart could become a key piece for the Giants in the future, and Giants fans will be closely watching the 2025 NFL Draft to see if he could be their next quarterback of the future.
