BLOCKBUSTER-DEAL: K-State Coach Chris Klieman Confirm One Year Contract With Another Top Experience Key-man

Kansas State’s most experienced offensive lineman, Taylor Poitier, will return for an additional year with the Wildcats. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound senior from Kansas City was granted extra college eligibility and announced his decision to use it on social media Thursday night, saying, “Why not? Let’s do this thing.”

This decision is a big boost for K-State football coach Chris Klieman, as Poitier, with more experience than any other offensive lineman on the roster, will be back for another season. Last season, Poitier started all 13 games at right guard and played a vital role in the Wildcats’ nine-win season. Over his career, he has played nearly 2,000 snaps. Alongside returning center Sam Hecht, Poitier is expected to help lead the offensive line in the upcoming season, though new starters will fill the other three positions.

Poitier had requested a waiver from the NCAA for an extra year due to missing most of the 2021 and 2022 seasons with injuries. While he was unsure about returning, the offer of another season with K-State ultimately convinced him to continue his college career.
