BREAKING: Giants’ Key Player Predicted to Replace Super Bowl Winner

Former New York Giants quarterback and current Minnesota Vikings QB Daniel Jones could become a highly sought-after player if he hits the free-agent market. Although his time with the Giants wasn’t flawless, securing a quarterback with potential is challenging in the NFL, and Jones has significant starting experience along with a strong desire to improve.

Jones is now predicted to leave the Vikings and potentially replace a quarterback who has not only been to the Super Bowl but has won it as well.

NFL analyst Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports published an article on January 28 proposing major quarterback trades for the offseason. With the 2025 NFL Draft’s incoming quarterback class being relatively weak, veteran quarterbacks are expected to be in even higher demand this offseason.

Benjamin pointed out that several prominent quarterbacks will become free agents in March, and others could be available via trade. He suggested Daniel Jones could land with the Los Angeles Rams to eventually take over from Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Benjamin explained, “Matthew Stafford is the unquestioned starter if he returns, but he’s soon to be 37. It’s time for Sean McVay to get a younger arm to develop, and he’s taken on reclamation projects before (e.g., Baker Mayfield).” Therefore, Benjamin believes Jones could eventually replace Stafford when his time is up.

Although Stafford, who turns 37 in February, has said he intends to return for the 2025 season, his future with the Rams remains uncertain. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Stafford does not plan to retire this offseason, though a new deal will need to be worked out.

In his offseason trade suggestions, Benjamin also highlighted the New York Giants’ need for a franchise quarterback. His pick for them is Russell Wilson of the Pittsburgh Steelers, noting that the Giants had shown interest in Wilson before he signed with Pittsburgh. With Jones possibly leaving, the Giants may be in need of Wilson’s veteran presence. Benjamin also pointed out that the Las Vegas Raiders could make a move for a top rookie quarterback, potentially leaving the Giants in a difficult position.
