Travis Kelce Sends 1-Word Message to Eagles After Super Bowl Blowout

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took full responsibility for the team’s 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday’s Super Bowl. “I threw a pick-six, and I threw another pick that they returned to the 5-yard line, and they scored right after,” Mahomes said. “When you give a team 14 points, especially a great team like the Eagles, a Super Bowl-caliber team, things aren’t going to go your way.”

He added, “I put us in a bad spot. Even though we put up some stats later in the game, those didn’t matter because I had already lost the momentum for the team. I need to do better at protecting the ball when things aren’t going my way, trust my defense, and trust the rest of the team to make stops until I can figure out what we need to do on offense.”

Mahomes wasn’t alone in his struggles, as star tight end Travis Kelce also had a tough time, recording only 39 yards on four receptions, most of which came after the game was already out of reach. In a brief postgame interview, Kelce was asked about his message to Eagles players after the game. His response was simply, “Congratulations.”

Despite speculation about Kelce’s future with the Chiefs, the future Hall of Famer recently made it clear he plans to play for at least another three years. However, after such a tough loss and his lack of impact in the game, his future with the team remains uncertain.
