BREAKING: Miami Dolphins Decline Trade On Key Receiver, Promise To Stay And Help Build Team’s Future

The Miami Dolphins have reportedly made a decision on wide receiver Tyreek Hill, putting to rest weeks of speculation about a potential trade. According to Dolphin reporter Alain Poupart, “The #MiamiDolphins, as we’ve suggested all along and now being confirmed by NFL Network insiders, are not planning to trade WR Tyreek Hill. We do know, however, where he’d like to go if a trade were to occur.”

After the Dolphins’ season-ending loss to the New York Jets, Hill’s future with the team was thrown into question. Frustrated by the disappointing outcome, Hill told reporters, “I’m out. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I gotta do what’s best for my career, because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

Hill’s comments led many to believe he might look for a fresh start, especially as it was the first time in his nine-year NFL career that he missed the playoffs. However, in the weeks following his outburst, Hill’s tone has softened. During a recent appearance on FanDuel TV’s “Up and Adams,” Hill took full responsibility for his earlier remarks and apologized to both his teammates and the organization. “I do,” Hill responded when asked if he wanted to stay with the Dolphins. “I don’t wanna go nowhere. I love it here, my family loves it.”

Following Hill’s public apology and a series of meetings with head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier, it seems the air has been cleared, suggesting that Hill will remain in Miami. For the Dolphins, this is a positive development as they prepare for the 2025 season. Despite a relatively quiet 2024 campaign (959 receiving yards and six touchdowns), Hill’s elite abilities remain undeniable.

His 2023 performance, which saw him lead the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, proves he’s still one of the league’s most dynamic wide receivers. With a healthy Tua Tagovailoa in 2025, Hill is expected to bounce back.

Hill remains optimistic about the team’s future despite their failure to make the playoffs. “We are really building something special in Miami,” Hill said. “We made it to the playoffs the first two years. Obviously, this year was hard, but if guys continue to buy into what coach is building and the culture he’s trying to build, it’s gonna be a beautiful thing.” In his public apology to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Hill praised his leadership and competitiveness, saying, “Tua, he’s my guy. Always will be my guy, no matter what.”

According to NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, the Dolphins have no intention of trading Hill. “Despite an uncomfortable ending to last season, they do not plan to trade their star wide receiver,” Pelissero reported. Hill has since stated his desire to stay in Miami, putting to rest any speculation about a departure.
