Giants Announce Coaching Staff Additions
The New York Giants have officially unveiled six new members of their coaching staff:
- Secondary Coach/Defensive Pass Game Coordinator: Marquand Manuel (formerly reported, but now with full title)
- Cornerbacks Coach: Jeff Burris (formerly reported)
- Assistant Quarterbacks Coach: Chad Hall (formerly reported)
- Offensive Assistant: Troy Brown
- Defensive Assistant: Steven Ferentz
- Defensive Assistant: Grant Morgan
Troy Brown brings a wealth of experience from his extensive playing and coaching career with the New England Patriots. Steven Ferentz’s brother, James, is currently the team’s assistant offensive line coach. Ferentz previously worked with the outside linebackers at the University of South Dakota. Grant Morgan was most recently a linebackers coach at the University of Illinois.
Strength and Performance Staff Expansion
The Giants have also bolstered their performance department with three new additions to Executive Director of Player Performance Aaron Wellman’s team:
- Director of Performance Nutrition: Dr. Matthew Frakes
- Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach: Chris Allen
- Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach: Mark Naylor
Additionally, Drew Wilson has been promoted to Director of Strength and Conditioning after serving as the assistant director.
Brandon Brown Interviewed by Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars have confirmed that they interviewed Brandon Brown, the New York Giants’ Assistant General Manager, for their open general manager position.
Christian Daboll Departs Team
According to the Daily News, Christian Daboll, son of Head Coach Brian Daboll, has left the Giants “to pursue other avenues.” Christian, who had served as an offensive assistant for the past two seasons, becomes the sixth coach to depart the team this offseason. He joins Jerome Henderson (defensive passing game coordinator/defensive backs coach), Mike Treier (safeties coach), Christian Jones (assistant quarterbacks coach), and Ben Burress and Zak Kuhr (defensive assistants) as departures.
