The New York Giants made a bold move to secure their future at quarterback by orchestrating a blockbuster trade with the Tennessee Titans to move up to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The trade saw the Giants send their No. 3 pick, along with additional draft picks, including a 2026 third-round pick, to the Titans in exchange for the No. 1 overall pick and the Titans’ second-round pick (No. 35 overall). This trade provided Tennessee with valuable draft capital, while the Giants secured their new franchise quarterback.
Cam Ward from the University of Miami was selected with the No. 1 overall pick. Ward had an outstanding season at Miami, winning the Davey O’Brien Award as the nation’s top college quarterback. He threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns, with only seven interceptions, leading Miami to a 10-3 record. Ward was also a Heisman Trophy finalist and is ranked as the No. 19 overall prospect on Pro Football Focus’s Big Board.

Along with Ward, the Giants used their second-round pick to add wide receiver Jack Bech from TCU. Bech, a Senior Bowl standout, gives Ward another dynamic weapon in the passing game. With the likely departure of Darius Slayton in free agency, Bech could step into a starting role, pairing well with Malik Nabers in the receiving corps. Bech had an impressive 2024 season, recording 62 receptions for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns, and was named the Senior Bowl MVP.
By securing Cam Ward and Jack Bech, the Giants are setting themselves up for long-term success, building their offense around a promising young quarterback and a talented wide receiver.
