The player, who had recently joined the UNLV football program, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 21. His family confirmed that he died peacefully in his sleep from natural causes, just one day shy of his 22nd birthday.

The athlete had made a significant impact on his new team after transferring in the 2025 offseason, with teammates and coaches quick to express their admiration for his leadership and character. His passing has left a deep void in the UNLV football community.

The player was identified as Ben Christman, a former offensive lineman who started his collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Kentucky and eventually to UNLV. Known for his strength, determination, and positive attitude, he was affectionately nicknamed “Big Ben” by those around him.
