The New York Yankees have had a strong offseason despite the tough loss of superstar Juan Soto to free agency. They’ve made several notable additions, leaving some players on the roster without a clear role for the 2025 season.
One player with an uncertain future is pitcher Marcus Stroman. Joseph Kallan of FanSided recently predicted that the Yankees might part ways with Stroman before manager Aaron Boone’s contract extension runs its course.
Kallan noted that while Stroman wants to remain in the starting rotation, Boone and the coaching staff aren’t fully committed to that idea.

With spring training likely being his last opportunity to prove himself as a reliable starter, Stroman’s place on the team remains unclear. If things don’t work out, he could soon find himself part of trade rumors.
Stroman’s future with the Yankees looks bleak, especially after being left off the World Series roster last season. With the addition of left-handed pitcher Max Fried and a solid group of prospects like Brock Selvidge and Will Warren, it seems unlikely that Stroman will make the roster. It’s looking like the Yankees will either trade or release him before long.
