JUST IN: Mizzou Loses Legendary Star To Retirement After 10 Successful NFL Seasons

Mitch Morse, a former NFL center, announced his retirement from professional football on Thursday after a 10-season career that included stints with three teams.

The 32-year-old Mizzou alum was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played four seasons with the Chiefs before spending one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars to conclude his career. Morse also played five seasons with the Buffalo Bills, where he earned a Pro Bowl selection as a member of the AFC in 2022.

During his time with the Chiefs, Morse played 49 games and was a key contributor, despite battling injuries during his final two years with the team. He started at center during the Chiefs’ first AFC Championship Game appearance in 2018, marking the beginning of their seven-year streak in the championship.

Morse spent five seasons with the Buffalo Bills, starting 77 games and solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s top centers. Over the course of his career, he earned $63.9 million, according to Spotrac.

Reflecting on his time in the league, Morse expressed that the relationships and bonds he formed with teammates were what he would cherish most. He thanked the Chiefs, Bills, and Jaguars for the unforgettable experiences and acknowledged his family’s unwavering support throughout his career. Now retired, he looks forward to spending more time with his wife, Caitlin, and their children, Kennedy and Deacon.
