MAJOR BREAKING: Offensive Lineman Bids Farewell After 10 Seasons In the NFL

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Mitch Morse, former center for the Kansas City Chiefs, announced his retirement from professional football on Thursday, ending a 10-season career with three different teams.

Morse, who was drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, spent four seasons with Kansas City before concluding his career with one season at the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 32-year-old Missouri product also played five seasons with the Buffalo Bills, earning a Pro Bowl selection for the AFC in 2022.

Reflecting on his career, Morse shared, “The memories I’ll hold closest are the relationships and bonds I formed with my teammates, both on and off the field. Those connections are irreplaceable, and I’ll miss them greatly.

I’m grateful to the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars for 10 incredible years. Most of all, I thank my wife, Caitlin, and my children Kennedy and Deacon for their unwavering love and support throughout my journey.”

During his time with the Chiefs, Morse played in 49 games over four seasons, enduring injuries in his final years but starting at center during their first AFC Championship Game appearance in 2018, marking the beginning of a seven-year streak of postseason appearances for the team. In Buffalo, Morse started 77 games during his five seasons with the Bills.

Throughout his career, Morse earned $63.9 million, according to Spotrac, and was a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree at the University of Missouri.
