BREAKING: Gamecocks’ Top Star Waves Goodbye As He Leaves For Rival On Fat Deal

In 2024, this player had his first real opportunity to take on a significant role in an NFL offense. Despite dealing with injuries throughout college and even some in the league, he managed to stay healthy and posted impressive statistics. He set a franchise record for rushing yardage by an undrafted player, rushing for 1,079 yards. With his new team, he’s expected to share the backfield duties, which could help him maintain his health over the course of the season.

During his college career at South Carolina, he finished with 2,167 rushing yards, which ranks 14th in the program’s history. He also became one of only eight running backs in Gamecocks history to rush for 200 yards in a single game, showcasing his talent and potential.

Now, after his breakout season in 2024, this player will reunite with former teammates and return to a location closer to his roots. His new team, the Carolina Panthers, offers him the chance to continue his NFL career while being nearer to both his college and his hometown in North Carolina.

The player’s performance in 2024 helped secure a new contract with the Panthers, a one-year deal worth just over $6 million. As part of his new team, he will form a dynamic running back duo with Chuba Hubbard, who extended his contract with the Panthers during the latter part of the 2024 season. Together, they will look to make a strong impact on the team’s offense in the coming season.

The move to the Panthers also puts him closer to former South Carolina teammates who are already with the team, including Jaycee Horn, DJ Wonnum, Xavier Legette, and Jadeveon Clowney. Horn, in particular, recently became the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history, further strengthening the connection to his former Gamecocks teammates.
