“Mind the Game,” the basketball podcast co-hosted by LeBron James, debuted about a year ago. The show featured retired NBA player JJ Redick, who was also an ESPN personality and podcaster at the time.
Despite initial excitement, “Mind the Game” only lasted for nine episodes, with the final one airing just before the 2024 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks.
A few weeks after the podcast’s hiatus, Redick was appointed as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Although James and Redick continued to collaborate in different roles, the podcast was presumed to be finished, with fans speculating it wouldn’t return.

However, on Wednesday, the podcast’s social media pages were unexpectedly revived with a video hinting at its return. In the teaser, Steve Nash, who replaced Redick as the new co-host, sits across from James, casually sipping from the Lakers’ coach’s wine glass.
Nash, who had played for the Lakers from 2012 to 2015, most recently coached the Brooklyn Nets from 2020 to 2022. In the video, James humorously points at the camera, stating that if Nash ever lands another coaching job, he’ll have had no involvement in it.
