BIG MOVE: Kentucky Wildcats Secure Commitment of Cincinnati Guard Dan Skillings Jr. Adding Key Wing Talent to Already Loaded Roster for 2025 Season

The Kentucky Wildcats are actively working to build a highly competitive roster, and their efforts in the transfer portal have been impressive thus far.

With Mark Pope securing his first 5-star recruit, Jasper Johnson, Kentucky was already poised to have an elite team for the upcoming season. However, they’ve continued to strengthen their lineup by adding top-tier talent.

Earlier, the Wildcats secured commitments from Kam Williams of Tulane and Jaland Lowe from Pitt. More recently, they added frontcourt players, including Mouhamed Dioubate from Alabama and Jayden Quaintance from Arizona State.

Now, Kentucky has set its sights on Cincinnati guard Dan Skillings Jr., who has spent all three of his college seasons with the Bearcats, contributing as they transitioned from the AAC to the Big 12. Skillings has shown steady improvement, averaging 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a junior, shooting 44% from the field, though his three-point shooting is still a work in progress at 29.9%.

A top-100 recruit in the 2022 class, Skillings hails from Blackwood, New Jersey, and stands at 6-foot-6. While Kentucky is also pursuing bigger names like Jaron Pierre and Wesley Yates, Skillings could become a key target if those plans don’t come to fruition.
