Kansas State men’s basketball will see a change on its coaching staff next season. Associate head coach Ulric Maligi, who has been with the Wildcats for the past three years, is expected to leave the program to take a similar role under Sean Miller at Texas. A source familiar with the situation confirmed the news on Thursday.

Maligi was one of the first assistant coaches Jerome Tang hired when he took over at K-State, joining a staff that also included Jareem Dowling, Rodney Perry, Marco Borne, and Anthony Winchester. That coaching group had remained intact during Tang’s three seasons in Manhattan.
However, with the Wildcats aiming to bounce back from a disappointing season, next year’s staff will have a new look. Maligi brings extensive experience coaching in Texas, and K-State initially hired him away from the Longhorns back in 2022.
