New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has reached an agreement on a two-year, two-way contract extension with forward Anton Blidh.
At 30 years old, Blidh has recorded 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points in 66 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack in the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. He currently ranks second on the team in goals and third in points, both setting career highs in the AHL for the native of Molnlycke, Sweden.

In his three seasons with Hartford, the 6’0″, 195-pound forward has accumulated 58 points (31 goals, 27 assists) in 147 games. Over the course of his 461 career AHL games with Hartford, Colorado, and Providence, Blidh has earned 83 goals and 75 assists for 158 points. In his NHL career, which includes stints with New York, Boston, and Colorado, Blidh has tallied 12 points (8 goals, 4 assists) in 85 games.
Blidh was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round, 180th overall, of the 2013 NHL Draft.
