REPORT: Analyst Predicts Only One QB Prospect Will Be ‘High-Upside Option’ for Giants

The New York Giants have had a noteworthy offseason, temporarily addressing their quarterback concerns by bringing in experienced veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. However, many fans remain unsatisfied, still eager for the team to find a young, promising quarterback to build around for the future.

Despite the recent signings, the Giants are still in desperate need of a long-term franchise quarterback. According to analyst Gregg Giannotti of Boomer and Gio, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe could be just that—a high-upside option worth considering in the upcoming NFL Draft.

“He’s not ready to start right away… but if you let him sit, learn, and develop, his highlight reel alone shows how special he could be,” Giannotti said. He compared Milroe to Anthony Richardson, pointing out that Richardson may have struggled because he was immediately thrust into a starting role with the Colts. In contrast, Milroe could take a more gradual path under the guidance of veterans like Wilson and Winston.

Last season, Milroe passed for 2,844 yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, while also rushing for 726 yards and an impressive 20 touchdowns on the ground.

While the Giants are reportedly eyeing prospects like Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter with the No. 3 overall pick, Milroe could be a strong option early in the second round at pick No. 34—or potentially even late in the first round if the team trades up to secure a fifth-year option on his rookie contract.

Regardless of how the draft unfolds, one thing is clear: the Giants still need to find a dynamic young quarterback for the future—and Jalen Milroe could be that guy.
