The NFL Draft is somehow still a week away, and honestly, it feels like we’ve already exhausted every possible talking point. You’d think the NFL would be a never-ending source of storylines, but this year’s draft class just isn’t sparking much excitement—even among league executives.
As a result, the rumor mill is being pushed into overdrive, partly out of necessity and partly because there’s not much else to dissect unless we want to go back to debating Will Campbell’s arm length for the hundredth time.
With content running thin, the internet is doing what it does best: turning speculation into headline-worthy chatter. Fox Sports stepped in to fill the void with a fresh batch of trade candidates across the league.
One suggestion, in particular, has caught attention—especially in Tampa Bay. While Rachaad White is listed as a possible trade chip for the Buccaneers, the name that really pops is Kayvon Thibodeaux of the New York Giants. If he’s truly available, the Bucs need to be making calls immediately.
The logic behind the potential trade is tied to the Giants possibly targeting Penn State linebacker Abdul Carter with their No. 3 overall pick. If they go that route, they might decide it’s not worth paying Thibodeaux big money once his rookie deal runs out—especially with major investments already made in Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence.

Trading Thibodeaux might hurt in the short term, but it could bring back a haul of premium draft picks that help the team long term, according to Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano.
Frankly, the idea that the Giants might actually move a young, high-upside pass rusher like Thibodeaux seems wild—but not totally implausible.
And if any team would make that kind of head-scratching decision, it might just be New York. The Bucs could desperately use a player with Thibodeaux’s 11.5-sack potential, and getting a shot at a 25-year-old edge rusher with star-level upside isn’t something that comes along often. So yeah, Jason Licht—go ahead and clear a spot on your call list for this one.
