MAJOR BREAKING: Top-Ranked Forward From Oklahoma Brings Talent, Energy, And Championship Experience To K-State’s 2025 Class.

 

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie has secured another top-tier recruit for the 2025-26 season, with standout freshman Brandie Harrod officially joining the Wildcats.

Hailing from Oklahoma City, Harrod is a highly regarded four-star recruit. She’s ranked No. 59 overall by ESPN Hoop Gurlz  sits at No. 38 nationally according to ProspectsNation.com, and holds the No. 42 overall spot—and No. 7 in Oklahoma—per 247Sports.

At Putnam City North High School, Harrod made a significant impact, averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 assists, 9.0 rebounds, and 1 block per game throughout her career.

In her senior year, she played a key role in leading the Panthers to their first-ever girls basketball state championship, contributing 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 assists per game during that title run.

K-State wrapped up the 2024-25 season with its 19th NCAA Tournament appearance and reached the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in program history. The Wildcats matched the second-highest win total in school history with 28 victories and tied for the second-most wins across a two-season span with 54. They spent the entire season ranked in both the AP and Coaches polls.

As a team, K-State set new program records in single-season points (2,842), assists (763), and blocks (206). The Wildcats also led the Big 12 in a number of categories, including scoring offense, scoring margin, field goal and three-point shooting percentage, field goal percentage defense, assists per game, and assist-to-turnover ratio.
