Huge-Boost: Kansas State Head Coach Jerome Tang Officially Announces the Addition of Accomplished UNC Wilmington Transfer

On the same day Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang and the Wildcats saw a player enter the transfer portal, they also gained a new addition.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, UNC Wilmington forward Khamari McGriff is transferring to K-State. McGriff averaged 11.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 season, shooting an impressive 65.1% from the field.

He was a key contributor to a UNC Wilmington squad that made it to the NCAA Tournament this past season — an achievement McGriff now hopes to replicate with the Wildcats, who haven’t been to the tournament in two years.

In their Round of 64 matchup, McGriff tallied 8 points and 3 rebounds in a loss to Texas Tech. Earlier in the season, he posted 18 points and 7 boards during a game at Kansas.

McGriff becomes the second transfer addition for K-State this offseason, joining Monmouth’s Abdi Bashir Jr.

His commitment coincides with K-State guard Dug McDaniel entering the transfer portal and Brendan Hausen committing to Iowa.
