Freddie Wallace, a 6-foot-2 forward and two-time junior college All-American, has announced her decision to transfer from Kansas State to the University of Arizona for the 2025–26 season. Wallace, who missed the 2024–25 season at Kansas State due to medical reasons, will bring her talent and experience to the Wildcats as they continue to build their program in the Big 12.
Before her time at Kansas State, Wallace had a standout career at Butler Community College in Kansas, where she became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,138 points over two seasons. She was named a third-team NJCAA All-American as a freshman and earned second-team honors in 2023–24. That season, she averaged 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and shot 47.2% from the field. Her scoring ability stood out, as she scored 20 or more points in 14 games during her sophomore year.

Wallace’s performance at Butler also helped guide the team to the Region VI title game, showcasing her leadership and playmaking ability. Over her two seasons, she started 63 games, averaging 17.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, all while playing just 27 minutes per game. This impressive consistency made her one of the most highly regarded junior college players in the country.
At Arizona, Wallace’s addition provides a significant boost to the Wildcats’ frontcourt. As the team enters its second year in the Big 12, Wallace’s size, scoring versatility, and experience will be vital in strengthening their roster. Her decision to transfer to Arizona is part of their ongoing effort to improve the program’s depth and competitiveness in the conference.
A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Wallace describes her playing style as fast and aggressive, drawing inspiration from WNBA legend Maya Moore. She credits her mother as her greatest role model and says her jersey number is a symbol of good luck. Wallace will have two years of eligibility remaining at Arizona, giving the Wildcats a promising addition to their team moving forward.
