The Missouri Tigers football program saw redshirt freshman center Talan Chandler enter the NCAA transfer portal on Monday. Chandler, who still has three years of eligibility left, saw limited action last season, appearing in just eight snaps during Mizzou’s game against UMass. A native of Nevada, Missouri, Chandler was a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class and initially committed to Colorado before switching to Missouri.
Defensive lineman Joe Moore is also entering the portal, likely seeking an extra year of eligibility through either a medical redshirt or an NCAA ruling that could grant him a fifth season. The St. Louis native transferred to Mizzou from Arizona State and played in a rotational role last season before a knee injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year ahead of the UMass game.
In 2024, he recorded two tackles (including half a tackle for loss), a half-sack, one pass breakup, five quarterback pressures, and a fumble recovery. He’s perhaps best remembered for recovering the fumble caused by Daylan Carnell that sealed Missouri’s Cotton Bowl victory over Ohio State on December 29, 2023. That season, he logged 13 tackles, with 1.5 of them for loss.

In recruiting news, Missouri appears to be out of the running for elite 2026 offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. According to On3, Cantwell is set to announce his commitment on April 30, with Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, and Oregon as his finalists.
Missouri, once in contention, did not make the final cut. Cantwell, ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 class by the On3 Industry Ranking, is the son of former Mizzou shot put star Christian Cantwell, a five-time world champion and silver medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The younger Cantwell, a standout in track and field himself, is the reigning MSHSAA Class 5 champion in both shot put and discus, and set a state record last spring with a 71-foot, 11-inch throw in shot put.
